Pictures: Syrian Army tank hunters wipe-out rebel sentry squad, kill local commander with missile strikes in north Homs
BEIRUT, LEBANON (7:55 A.M.) – On Monday afternoon, a Syrian Army anti-tank missile team engaged and completely neutralized a militant sentry squad, killing a local rebel commander among its ranks in the process, in the northern countryside of Homs province.
According to sources, the Syrian Army tank hunters struck the militant sentry team has it approached the frontline near Al-Ghanto town to relieve another guard squad.
Syrian Army tank hunters fired two missiles at 2 pickups trucks which the relief team were traveling in, scoring direct hits on both.
As a result, four Free Syrian Army rebels were killed, one of them being a local field commander by the name of Khalil Ajjo, and two more seriously injured.
The engagement comes after the Syrian Army called-off a major offensive against militant forces in the region on the grounds that the local rebel leadership was ready to negotiate a full reconciliation with the government, only for no further diplomatic progress to be made since then.
Below are pictures of the four rebels who were killed in the Syrian Army missile attack.
