Pictures: 3 Iranian jihadists – two of them Kurdish – killed in Syria amid battles across Idlib
BEIRUT, LEBANON (6:45 P.M.) – Recently, Al-Qaeda-affiliated media released an official statement mourning the death of three of Iranian jihadists who were members of the terrorist organization and had been killed during battles with the Syrian Arab Army in Idlib province. Two of the Iranian militants were ethnic Kurds and the other was Balouch.
Among the many foreign jihadists fighting against Syrian government forces in Idlib province are Iranians. Most can be found within the ranks of Syria’s most powerful rebel group – Ha’yat Tahrir al-Sham (formerly Jabhat al-Nusra, the Syrian branch of Al-Qaeda).
Recently, Ha’yat Tahrir al-Sham mourned the death of three of its foreign jihadists; all were Iranians nationals with two being Kurdish and one being Balouch.
The slain terrorists have been identified as Abd al-Raoof al-Kurdi, Jaban al-Kurdi and Abu Yahya al-Balushi. All three originate from Iran’s northern regions and had obviously left the country at some point to join Al-Qaeda’s war in Syria.
