Over 500 displaced families return to Beit Jinn after jihadist departure
BEIRUT, LEBANON (1:45 A.M.) – More than 500 displaced families returned to their homes in the once occupied Beit Jinn area of the West Ghouta, Saturday, the Syrian government reported.
According to the report, the families returned to towns of Beit Jinn and Mughir Al-Mir after the Syrian Arab Army’s (SAA) sappers cleaned the area of any potential explosives left behind by the jihadist rebels.
Most of these families were displaced three years ago, when the jihadist forces took control of several towns near the occupied Golan Heights region.
Since the departure of the militants, the Golan Heights front has been relatively calm, which has paved the way for many civilians to begin returning to this region.
