Jihadist rebels storm southern Idlib in another bid to retake lost ground
BEIRUT, LEBANON (9:05 A.M.) – The jihadist rebels launched another big assault in the southern countryside of Idlib this morning, targeting the Syrian Arab Army’s positions near the Hama axis.
Led by the Turkestan Islamic Party (TIP) and Hay’at Tahrir Al-Sham (HTS), the jihadist rebels stormed the Syrian Army’s positions at the towns of Um Khalakhil and Ja’dan in southern Idlib.
Pro-opposition activists are reporting the aforementioned towns have been captured by Hay’at Tahrir Al-Sham and the Turkestan Islamic Party; however, Al-Masdar cannot confirm at this time.
Yesterday, the jihadist rebels were able to capture the town of Khuwayn, despite the heavy bombardment by the Russian Aerospace Forces and Syrian Arab Army.
