Breaking: Erdogan announces ‘radical’ groups have begun withdrawing from Idlib buffer zone
BEIRUT, LEBANON (10:30 A.M.) – Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan told reporters this morning that “radical groups” near the agreed upon demilitarized zone in Idlib have begun withdrawing to an undisclosed location.
Erdogan did not specify which radical group was pulling away from this zone nor did he state which part of the DMZ they were leaving.
Earlier this week, the Hurras Al-Deen Group announced that they reject the Idlib agreement that was established in the Russian port-city of Sochi.
The hardline jihadist groups are expected to reject this agreement as it forces them to withdraw from the front-lines in the Idlib Governorate.
